Women's Tennis Team Makes Home Debut

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – One week after battling the top-ranked team in the country, the UNCW women's tennis team makes its home debut early Saturday (Jan. 30) when state rival N.C. Central visits the UNCW courts.

The pairing with the Eagles will begin at 1 p.m. at the UNCW courts. The Seahawks have not lost to the Eagles in 10 career matches.

The Seahawks dropped their season opener to No. 1 North Carolina, 7-0, last weekend in Chapel Hill.

"It's very exciting to have our first home match of the season," said Olsen. "We're looking to improve in some key areas as a team. Our first focus will be on finding another gear to our movement on the court in these matches."

Celeste Matute, a graduate student, played at the top of the singles lineup in last weekend's spring opener. Matute was followed by William & Mary transfer Charlotte Madson, senior Rachel Marthinsen, senior Maddy Muller-Hughes, sophomore Anna Daniels and senior Lea Dubois-Rebiere.
