WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW freshman
Malina Pardo has been selected to compete for the Puerto Rico U-20 National Team during the upcoming CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship.

Pardo, from Raleigh, N.C., appeared in five games for the Seahawks in her rookie campaign. She played a season-high 12 minutes against Coastal Carolina on Aug. 29 and also saw action against Furman, Stephen F. Austin, VCU and Charleston.

Chris Neal said. "It will be a tremendous experience for her to be part of the World Cup qualifying phase."

The CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship, which is a qualifying tournament for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, will take place from Feb. 22 to Mar. 9 in the Dominican Republic. The finalists and the third-place match winner advance to the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in August. Â
