Volleyhawks Take Exhibition From UNCG

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Juniors Brynn Montgomery and Kyla Augustine had seven kills apiece and the Seahawks added nine blocks in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-17) win over visiting UNCG in an exhibition match on Saturday at Hanover Hall.

At the net, seniors Madison Peters and Kendall Bender were joined by sophomore Rebecca Nuanez with three total blocks.

Junior Anna Weissmann recorded a match-high 15 digs for the Seahawks while junior teammate Jaime Thomas added six kills and nine digs.

Lauren Robeck held match-high honors for the Spartans with nine kills. Gabriela McHugh doled out 24 assists, also a match-high, for UNCG.

The Seahawks open their 11th season under the direction of Head Coach Amy Bambenek on Aug. 30 hosting North Florida in the Hampton Inns Invitational at Hanover Hall.
