Seahawks Record Solid Marks At ECU

GREENVILLE, North Carolina – Moe Holmes, Courtney Cefalo and Owen Pelletier posted CAA-best marks on the final day of the 2019 Bill Carson Invitational on Saturday at East Carolina's Minges Family Field at Bate Foundation Track & Field Facility.
 
In addition to the host Pirates and Seahawks, the sixth annual meet featured student-athletes from Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, The Citadel and Saint Augustine.
 
Holmes, a senior from Washington, D.C., soared 47-4.25 to finish third in the Men's Triple Jump, the best mark in the CAA this season. Cefalo, from Thomasville, N.C., wound up second in the Women's Long jump with a leap of 19-0.75, another high water mark in the conference this spring.
 
Pelletier, a freshman from Oxford, N.H., jumped 6-4.75 to place fourth in the Men's High Jump. It was also the best jump in the league in 2018-19.
 
The Seahawks had several second place finishes on Saturday, including Sarah Timberlake (Clemmons, N.C.) in the Women's High Jump, Evan Jones (St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands) in the Men's 800 Meters, Mikaya Spencer (Cary, N.C.) in the Women's 400 Meter Hurdles and E.J. Green (Greensboro, N.C.) in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdles.
