Men's Tennis Team Falls At ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee – East Tennessee State reeled off its sixth consecutive men's tennis victory early Saturday with a 4-0 shutout of visiting UNCW at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.
 
The Buccaneers hiked their record to 15-4 on the season and 10-4 against non-conference opponents. The Seahawks, playing their final road game of the regular campaign, stand 9-9 after seeing their three-match winning streak stopped.
 
ETSU moved to 8-0 on its home courts by taking the doubles point and sweeping the first three singles matches off the court, including a 6-2, 6-4, upset by Frazier Rengifo over Seahawk junior and 106th-ranked Austin Hussey.
 
The Seahawks return home to close out the regular season against Appalachian State (Friday, April 12) and former CAA rival VCU (Saturday, April 13). Friday's match with the Mountaineers begins at 3 p.m. at the UNCW courts.
