Top-seeded Tribe Blanks Seahawks

ELON, North Carolina – Top-seeded William & Mary zipped past No. 8 UNCW, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Tennis Championships early Thursday at Elon's Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
 
The Tribe, seeking its fifth straight conference women's tennis crown and 27th overall, improved to 8-13 this season. The Seahawks closed out the year with a 9-12 record.
 
W&M won matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to claim the early point and added three singles victories to secure the match.
 
It marked the sixth time the two schools have battled in the CAA Tournament. The Tribe stands 11-0 all-time vs. UNCW, including a 4-2 victory in the 2017 championship match.
