Lloyd Takes Fifth In Javelin At Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Freshman Jon Lloyd placed fifth in the javelin to highlight UNCW's finishes on the opening day of the 2019 Charlotte Invitational on Friday at Charlotte's Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.

The newcomer from San Antonio, Texas, finished in the upper half of the 12-man field. Wake Forest's Elijah Shalaway had the top college throw of 204-09.

In addition to Lloyd's performance, sophomore Evan Jones posted a PR in the 1,500 Meter Run with a time of 3:58.32 and sophomore Julia Ledgett registered a PR in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase in 11:45.14.

The Seahawks close out their appearance in the meet with a full slate of competition on Saturday in the Queen City.
