WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW continues its 2019 softball schedule this weekend as the Seahawks venture to Charleston Southern for the Holy City Showdown on Saturday, Feb. 23, and Sunday, Feb. 24.
The Seahawks, 5-5 on the season, will face Marshall and UMass Lowell in a pair of games on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. before closing out the weekend against the host Buccaneers on Sunday at 1 p.m.
UNCW opened its home schedule last weekend by winning 3-of-5 games at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Seahawk Softball Bash. Freshman
Gabriella Hessenthaler paced the Seahawks by hitting .467 with seven hits, including a double and two triples, while scoring five runs.

- Junior Dominique Travers has reached base safely in all 10 of the Seahawks' games this season.
- UNCW continues to lead the Colonial Athletic Association with nine home runs through the first two weeks of the season. UNCW also holds the league lead with 49 runs batted in.
- Freshman Janel Gamache is tied for the CAA lead with 12 hits, including a CAA-best six doubles.
- Junior Rylee Pate, who holds a 3-1 record in the circle, has thrown a CAA-high 33.2 innings in six appearances this season. She is also one of three pitchers in the CAA with three or more wins.
- The Seahawks' 11 runs scored against Howard last Saturday are the most in a game for any CAA team this season.
