5/14/2018 9:18:00 PM

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Seahawks close out their non-conference schedule Tuesday evening with a 6 p.m. start against nationally-ranked North Carolina as the two programs close out their annual home-and-home series at Brooks Field.

UNCW topped the Tar Heels earlier this season, 5-4, in Chapel Hill. The Seahawks were able to overcome a 3-0 deficit in the first inning behind the hot bat of Mason Berne, who finished with three hits and three runs batted in.

Freshman Landen Roupp will make the start for the Seahawks while UNC counters with Rodney Hutchinson.

The Seahawks closeout their regular season beginning this Thursday when they host the College of Charleston at 6 p.m. UNCW trails the Cougars by a game for second in the Colonial Athletic Association standings.

UNCW will recognize Head Coach Mark Scalf prior to the game on Tuesday. Last Friday, the longtime skipper notched his 900th career win, a 7-6 win at Northeastern.
