CAA Quarterfinal Recap
BURLINGTON, North Carolina – Second-seeded James Madison won the doubles point and claimed three singles matches to defeat No. 7 UNCW, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Tennis Championships on Friday at the Burlington Tennis Center.

The Dukes raised their record to 20-3 this spring and will face No. 6 Charleston in Saturday's semifinals. The Seahawks ended their season with a 1-12 mark.

In Friday's match, the Dukes won the first two matches off the court in doubles to grab a quick 1-0 edge before closing out the match in singles play.

JMU's top doubles team of Elizabeth Norman and Abby Amos trimmed UNCW's
Sabrina Barisano and
Maddy Muller-Hughes, 6-4, in the deciding match in doubles action.

The Dukes moved the score to 2-0 when Jona Roka beat Hughes, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 3 singles and JMU's Anna Makarova topped
Celeste Matute, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 2 singles to raise the lead to 3-0.

JMU's Diane Flament then clinched the match for the Dukes with a 6-3, 7-6 (2), verdict over Seahawk freshman
Rishika Ravindran at the No. 5 position.
