WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW closes out the season this weekend when it competes at the Coastal Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship tournament in Emmerson, Ga. The tournament opens on Apr. 20-21 with pool play action.

The Seahawks carry as 12-12 mark into the weekend, having dropped their four matches, all against nationally-ranked opponents. UNCW will face three of those programs in pool play when it opens up against top-seeded and seventh-ranked Florida State on Friday morning.

Joining the Seminoles and Seahawks in Pool A are eighth-ranked LSU, 11th-ranked Georgia State and 18th-ranked Florida Atlantic. Of the 10 schools in the tournament, seven are ranked and two are receiving votes in the latest AVCA poll.

UNCW plays FSU at 9 a.m. on Friday and follows that with a 1:30 p.m. dual against LSU. On Saturday, it'll be FAU at 10:30 a.m. and Georgia State at 3 p.m.

The tournament concludes on Sunday with pool finals and the championship dual.

The Seahawks' top pairing of Maddy Kline and Nicole Lott are ranked 27th in College Beach Volleyball's list and have compiled a mark of 14-9. Kline and Lott strung together a six-match winning streak late in the season and opened the season with a win over South Carolina.

UNCW's highest ranked pairing is Brynn Montgomery and Katie McCullough, which posted a 12-12 record and is ranked 22nd among the fourth pairings.

Rounding out the Seahawk rankings are JM Lewandowski / Halle Hunt (37th, second pairings), Raquel Rooney / Sarah Kelly (29th, third) and Courtney Mullinax / Jaime Thomas (30th, fifth).
