WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's basketball team looks to return to the win column on Saturday afternoon when the Seahawks welcome Fayetteville State to Trask Coliseum for a 2 p.m. non-conference contest.
Fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game for the team's second "Color Series" game of the season. Official "Blue Out" shirts can be purchased at Omega Sports and the UNCW Bookstore. In addition, the first 250 fans that bring a new pair of kids shoes will receive a pair of Seahawk socks as part of "Barefootin' Night."
The Seahawks bring a 4-2 record into Saturday's contest after having their three-game win streak snapped with a 58-47 setback at VCU on Wednesday night. Redshirt senior guard
Shrita Parker posted the first double-double of her college career with 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
Fayetteville State is 3-3 on the season after losing on the road against Barton by a 51-38 count on Wednesday night. The Broncos, who are in the middle of a five-game road swing, received eight-point efforts from junior guards Shantel Bennett and Katisha Hyman in the loss.
Saturday's Starting Five
It's Been a While – UNCW and Fayetteville State are facing each other for the first time since Jan. 10, 1983. The Broncos won that contest, 78-62, to take a 3-2 lead in the all-time series.
Home Run – The Seahawks have won 10 consecutive non-conference home games dating back to a 91-65 triumph over Catawba on Dec. 19, 2016.
Carolina on Our Minds – UNCW will be facing an opponent from the Tar Heel State for the third time this season after defeating Belmont Abbey and N.C. Central. Three of the Seahawks' five December foes are North Carolina opponents.

GiGi Smith have scored in double figures in all six of the Seahawks' games this season. Parker paces the Seahawks with a 19.5 scoring average while Smith follows at 14.5 points per game.

Shrita Parker has converted 19-of-21 free throws in the last two games, boosting her free throw percentage to 91.3 percent, which ranks fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association.
