Smith Paces UNCW With 16 Points At West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga. – Paige Smith led UNCW with 16 points off the bench, but West Georgia extended its home winning streak to four behind a season-high 13 three pointers as the Wolves topped visiting UNCW, 83-63, on Wednesday at The Coliseum.

The Wolves remained perfect at home with a 4-0 mark and raised their record on the season to 4-2. The Seahawks saw their brief two-game winning streak halted and dropped to 3-4 overall.

Smith knocked down a team-high four three-pointers. Angelina Pelayo, who was making her second appearance of the season, added a career-high 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Torin Rogers rounded out UNCW's double-figure scorers with 10 points.

Led by Sydne Tolbert's five triples made, UWG shot 13-of-22 (59.1%) from behind the three-point line. Asia Donald and Jasmine Jones added four and three three-pointers, respectively.

Donald finished with a game-high 23 points and Tolbert had 20 points. Jones scored 17 and doled out a game-high five assists.

The Wolves built a 25-14 lead after one quarter of play while knocking down 10-of-16 field goal attempts, including four from three-point range.
