WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW steps out of the NCAA Division I realm for the first and only time this season when NAIA member Allen visits Trask Coliseum early Sunday for a 2 p.m. matinee.

The Seahawks, 0-3, are trying to find the win column for the first time following successive losses to Campbell (97-93, OT), Stanford (72-59) and UNCG (82-61). Those three opponents own a combined record of 8-4 this season.

UNCW is coming off an 82-61 defeat to the Spartans on Tuesday in a game where the Seahawks got down early, crawled back into it and then watched as UNCG rolled late. The loss was UNCW's second straight at home following a season-opening overtime defeat at Campbell.

The Seahawks close out their early-season three-game home stand with Allen, an NAIA school based in Columbia, S.C. The contest is part of the VisitCurrituckOBX.com Battle In The Blue Ridge exempt tournament scheduled over the Thanksgiving holiday in Asheville.

The Yellow Jackets travel to the Port City following a busy week that has featured four games in five days. A member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference, Allen carried a __ record into Saturday's game at Bryan (Dayton, Tenn.) College.

The Seahawks are 43-7 lifetime, including 35-3 at home, and have won 12 in a row vs. non-Division I opponents since a 55-54 loss at Alaska-Fairbanks on Nov. 24, 1996. UNCW walloped N.C. Wesleyan, 105-81, and Greensboro, 101-60, in two games against non-DI foes one year ago.

Turnovers have plagued the Seahawks early in 2018-19, but a constant has been the play of senior forward Devontae Cacok, who is averaging a double-double of 17.3 points and 12.3 rebounds. The Riverdale, Ga., product had 19 points and 17 boards in Tuesday's game and  racked up his 37th career double-double with the effort.

Live Seahawk Digital Network (SDN) coverage of the UNCW-UNCG contest starts at 1:45 p.m. with Mike Vaccaro, the "Voice of the Seahawks," and color analyst Marty Feurer on the call. Visit UNCWsports.com/SDN for live audio and video coverage.

A radio broadcast of the game may be heard on 95.9 FM "The Breeze" | WKXB HD 2 – 95.9 FM and 99.9 HD2 and live stats are available at UNCWStats.com.
