Seahawks look to solidify conference standing


WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Seahawks moved into fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association standings with their sweep of William & Mary on Tuesday and enter this weekend looking to solidify their place among the top-six conference tournament hopefuls. UNCW visits Elon and Charleston with the Seahawks and Phoenix taking the court on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Senior Maddy Kline continued her strong play collecting 15 kills against the Tribe and hitting .310 for the match. The match, though, was won at the net as the Seahawks recorded 11.5 blocks with senior Anna Moss leading the way with six. Sophomore Brynn Montgomery and junior Kendall Bender added four apiece.

The Seahawks trail Charleston for third by a win and are two wins behind Hofstra for second and a first-round bye in the conference tournament.
