BUIES CREEK, North Carolina – Led by three event wins by junior Kyra Schemmel and two more from freshman Charlotte Watts, UNCW overcame a fast Campbell start for a 144-118 win in women's swimming action on Saturday at the Johnson Aquatics Center.

The Seahawks ran their record to 5-4 on the season while the Camels dipped to 4-9. UNCW improved to 5-2 in the all-time series and snapped a two-meet losing skid in Buies Creek.

Schemmel opened her winning day, taking the 200 Freestyle and later added wins in the 500 Free and 400 IM.

Watts gave UNCW a pair of wins in the 100 and 200 Butterfly events.

Adding event wins for the Seahawks were freshman Evan Arsenault (50 Free) and juniors Shannon Howell (200 Backstroke) and Meagan Johnson (200 Breaststroke).

UNCW hosts Davidson on Jan. 13, along with the men, as the program honors its seniors in the final home meet of the season.
