Baseball Preview: East Carolina

 
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Seahawks and East Carolina wrap up their home-and-home series on Tuesday when the Pirates visit Brooks Field for a 6 p.m. start.

UNCW (16-18) is coming off a three-game Colonial Athletic Association sweep of James Madison while the Pirates (19-18) dropped three games to visiting UCF in American Athletic Conference play. Last week ECU dealt the Seahawks a10-2 setback in Greenville.

A pair of left-handers will make starts for the respective teams with Clay Lockamon getting the nod for UNCW and Jacob Wolfe drawing the start for ECU.

On Monday, UNCW freshman Zarion Sharpe was named CAA Pitcher-of-the-Week after tossing a complete game win against James Madison. The lefthander allowed a run on four hits, walked none and struck out five. His previous season-long outing was five innings against NC Central earlier this month.

The Seahawks return to the road for conference play this weekend when they visit Hofstra for a three-game series beginning on Friday with a 3 p.m. first-pitch.
