Central District Invitational Final Round Results (Feb. 21, 2017)
PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida – Led by sophomore
Ellinoora Moisio, the UNCW women's golf team finished in ninth place at the Central District Invitational after posting a 304 team score in the final round at the St. Lucie Trail Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Furman claimed the team title after finishing 23 strokes ahead of Memphis with an 864 team score.
Alice Chen of Furman won the individual title after posting a one-under score for the tournament.
Moisio ended the tournament in a tie for 30th place after closing out play with a five-over-par score of 77. She was one of three Seahawks to post a five-over-par score in the final round, joining juniors
Kayla Thompson and
Lyberty Anderson.
Thompson finished the tournament in a tie for 37th place while Anderson followed in a tie for 40th place.
Freshman
Thao My Nguyen, who carded the Seahawks' best round on Tuesday with a one-over-par 73, ended with a three-round score of 231 to claim a piece of 33rd place.
Junior
Alaina Yeatts completed the Seahawks' efforts in the tournament by firing a 243 tournament score, which earned a share of 66th place.
The Seahawks will be idle until Mar. 9-10 when they host the River Landing Classic with East Carolina.
