WILMINGTON, North Carolina – And then there were four.

With the logjam atop the Colonial Athletic Association standings pared to four teams, the UNCW men's basketball team is in wintry Philadelphia early Sunday to take on Drexel in the second matchup of the season between the league rivals.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but Winter Storm Jonas had other ideas. With flights cancelled up and down the eastern seaboard, the Seahawks boarded a bus and arrived in the Philadelphia area late Friday, avoiding the brunt of the storm. Tip-off is now set for Noon on Sunday.

The Seahawks, 13-5 overall and 5-2 in the loop, are coming off a hard-earned 79-70 triumph over Delaware on Thursday at Trask Coliseum. Coach Kevin Keatts and his club led by as many as 14 points in the contest, but the pesky Blue Hens never let the game get out of hand and battled to the end.

Junior guard Chris Flemmings continued his stellar play for UNCW, collecting a double double of 17 points and 13 rebounds – his second feat of the season – and the Seahawks denied several Delaware runs late in the contest.

UNCW owns a four-game winning streak for the third time this season and can match its longest string of the year with a win over the Dragons. But it won't be easy.

Drexel hangs its hat on defense and the Dragons, 3-15 and 1-6, live for close games, especially in the highly competitive CAA. Coach Bruiser Flint's club is averaging 62.9 points per game and limiting opponents to 70.6 ppg. Drexel has held five opponents under 65 points in 2015-16.

In its last outing, Drexel fell behind by 10 points at intermission and couldn't overcome 31.3 percent shooting in a 68-45 road loss at James Madison on Thursday. The Dragons trailed by 23 points early in the second half and went 0-for-7 from deep after the break to remain winless in five CAA road outings. Kazembe Abif paced Flint's squad with 15 points and Terrell Allen pitched in 11.

Tavon Allen leads a pair of Dragons in double figures at 12.9 ppg and rookie Terrell Allen, one of the CAA's leaders in steals, is collecting 10.5 ppg.

The two teams rang in the New Year with a battle back on Dec. 31, 2015, at Trask Coliseum.  Flemmings tied a school record with 15 free throws en route to 17 points to power UNCW to a 75-63 triumph in the CAA debut for both clubs. The Seahawks jumped out to a 41-30 advantage at halftime and held the Dragons to 29.3 percent shooting in the second half with 18 turnovers in the contest. C.J. Bryce added 14 points, Devontae Cacok scored 11 and Denzel Ingram collected 10 points for the Seahawks..

Sunday's game features two of the CAA's top newcomers in Bryce and Drexel's Terrell Allen. Bryce has started 17-of-18 games and is averaging 10.7 points and 3.7 rebounds for the Seahawks. Allen has opened all 18 contests for the Dragons, collecting 10.5 points and 2.8 boards.

UNCW stands 4-7 in 11 visits to Philadelphia and the Daskalakis Center, the second smallest outpost in the CAA. The Seahawks have lost three straight to the Dragons in Philly. UNCW's last win in the City of Brotherly Love came on Feb. 24, 2010, via a 75-69 victory.

The two teams had no common opponents during the non-conference slate, but have played three common CAA foes.  UNCW went 2-1 against Elon, William & Mary and Towson. Drexel went 0-3 against the threesome.

The Seahawks own a 14-12 advantage in the 26-game series. UNCW won 10 of the first 12 games between the two clubs, including five straight at one point, before DU bounced back to win four in a row.

Travel issues are nothing new to the Seahawks. UNCW's had a game with Boston-based Northeastern adjusted back to Feb. 13 because of an ice storm during the 2013-14 season.

All of UNCW's games are carried live on the Seahawk Digital Network (SDN). Fans can visit UNCWsports.com, click the Live Events button, and select the game for a free audio feed of the contest.
