VolleyHawks Visit Rival Charleston On Tuesday

Live Stats | Video Stream
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Seahawks open regular-season ending road stretch on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. start at rival College of Charleston. The match will be streamed and accessed through UNCWsports.com.

UNCW enters the week looking to win both matches and clinch the regular season title. The Cougars, meanwhile, have also clinched a Colonial Athletic Association tournament berth and will be the fifth-seed in the championship tournament later this month.

The Seahawks need to win their last two matches in order to host the conference tournament. UNCW has never won a regular season title and finished as high as second during the 1988 season.

Both teams carry winning streaks into the match with UNCW having won its last two and CofC, it's last three. Both beat William & Mary and Elon last weekend in home matches. UNCW edged the Cougars, 3-2, in a five-set thriller in the conference opener for both teams in late September.

The Seahawks look avenge a loss at CofC last season that ended their season in the semifinals of the CAA tournament in Charleston.

Senior libero Lindsay Hartmann was named CAA Defensive Player-of-the-Week for a third time this season earlier this week. Hartmann averaged 5.5 digs per set and has 375 digs this season. For her career, she ranks fifth on UNCW's all-time list with 1,123.

Charleston had Melissa Morello and Allison Beckman named CAA Offensive and Rookie-of-the-Week, respectively. Morello leads the league in kills (395) and has crafted 19 double-doubles this season. Beckman, meanwhile, doled out 92 assists on the weekend and added 20 digs.

The Seahawks visit Delaware for a 1 p.m. first-serve on Sunday. The Blue Hens sit in sixth-place and lead William & Mary and Northeastern for the final tournament berth.
