WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Kevin Keatts and the UNCW men's basketball team seek their third straight win and third victory in league play when the Seahawks entertain Drexel in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Seahawks stand 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the circuit following Saturday's scintillating 74-73 overtime triumph over pesky Delaware at Trask Coliseum. It was UNCW's fourth win in five outings this season on its home floor.

Keatts & Co. erased a six-point deficit in the final 42 seconds of regulation to force overtime and trim Delaware, 74-73, in the extra session late Thursday. Senior guard Freddie Jackson had 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in 45 minutes on the floor to power the Seahawks, who led by as many as 11 points early in the contest. It marked the first home conference win for Keatts, who took over the program back in April.

Drexel, meanwhile, broke open a close game by outscoring host Towson by 14 points in the second half for a 55-41 victory over the Tigers on Thursday at SECU Arena. Senior guard Freddie Wilson came off the bench to score 14 points as the Dragons snapped a 22-all tie at intermission with a solid second period. Junior guard Damien Lee of Drexel led all scorers with 16 points in the road win.

The Seahawks own a 12-11 advantage in the 23-game series. UNCW won 10 of the first 12 games, including five straight at one point, before DU bounced back to win four in a row. Drexel has won five straight over UNCW, including consecutive 16-point victories, and nine of the last 11 meetings between the two teams.

In the last pairing between the teams, then-sophomore forward Tavon Allen came off the bench to score 17 points, including 10 in a critical stretch of the second half, as Drexel completed a sweep of the regular season series with a 61-50 victory on Feb. 3, 2014, at the Daskalakis Center in Philadelphia. Allen made 8-of-15 shots for his team-high total and was complemented by Chris Fouch's 16 points and 15 from Frantz Massenat. The Seahawks trailed by one point with eight minutes left, but came up short. Addison Spruill had 22 points to pace the Seahawks.

The Dragons won the first game between the two clubs last season, 79-63, on Jan. 18, 2014, at Trask Coliseum behind Massenat, who poured in 30 points on 8-of-11 shooting. The performance is tied for the 13th most points scored in the arena.

The Seahawks continue to feature a balanced scoring attack through 14 games, with five players averaging at least six points per game. Freddie Jackson (15.3), Spruill (12.4) and Craig Ponder (12.0) are collecting double figures each time on the court.

Jackson and Lee rank 1-2 in the CAA in minutes played. Jackson tops the loop in minutes at 37.2 mpg and Lee is averaging 37.1 mpg.

UNCW faces the CAA's top scorer tonight in Lee, a strong, versatile shooting guard who was the CAA's Rookie-of-the-Year in 2012. The 6-6, 200-pounder from Baltimore tops the league with 20.0 points per game. The Seahawks have faced four of the CAA's top five scorers already this year.

Following tonight's clash with the Dragons, the Seahawks head back on the road for three straight away games, traveling to William & Mary (Jan. 14), Hofstra (Jan. 17) and the College of Charleston (Jan. 21). UNCW doesn't return home again until a Jan. 24 date against Towson.
