Red-Hot VolleyHawks Host Delaware Thursday

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW has little time to relish its win over defending Colonial Athletic Association champion College of Charleston as the Seahawks retake the court tonight for a 7 p.m. start against Delaware at Hanover Hall.

The Seahawks improved to 15-5 overall and 5-1 in the league after sweeping the visiting Cougars for their fourth straight win. UNCW moved past CofC into second in the conference standings.

Delaware (10-11, 3-3 CAA) has won three of its last four outings, including a sweep of William & Mary and James Madison last weekend in key CAA matches. The Blue Hens are fifth in the conference standings and will close out their swing through North Carolina on Saturday at Elon.

The Seahawks will have their hands full on serve receive against UD's Katie Hillman, who ranks third in the CAA with 27 service aces. Defensively, sophomore Taylor Hollingsworth is second in the league in digs, averaging 4.82 per set.

Morgan Kline continues to power the Seahawks offensively, averaging 3.23 kills per set and is second in digs with 198 on the season. Meredith Peacock entered the week ranked sixth nationally with a conference leading 102 blocks. Last night she added seven blocks and eight kills. Morgan Owney leads the squad with 216 digs after chalking up 12 last night against CofC.

UNCW closes out its three matches in four days stretch on Saturday with a 7 p.m. start against Towson at Hanover Hall.
