What Are The Benefits of
Becoming a Seahawk Club Member?

Seahawk Club membership
starts with a minimal donation of $120, club members are awarded specific
benefits and access based on their level of giving.
A priority point system
is also used to help determine special benefits such as priority seating for
basketball season ticket assignments and upgrades, men's basketball away game
tickets, and CAA Tournament ticket availability. Priority points are awarded to
donors who contribute annual gifts to the Seahawk Club as well as gifts to
facility projects, endowments, and make other special contributions to UNCW
Athletics. The system awards points based on the following areas:
Priority Points
Calculations
Unrestricted giving:
-
3 points per $100 (after
the initial $120 membership fee is paid) in unrestricted giving to the Student
Aid Association (Seahawk Club) contributed in the current membership year (July
1, 2009-June 30, 2010)
Restricted giving:
-
1 point per $100 (after
the initial $120 membership fee is paid) contributed to a sport specific
booster group
Season ticket purchases:
-
1 point per men's
basketball season ticket purchased (if a minimum of $120 is donated)
Years of Seahawk Club membership bonus points:
-
2 points per consecutive
year of membership
-
5 points for five
consecutive years of membership
-
10 points for ten
consecutive years of membership
-
20 points for twenty
consecutive years of membership
Additional bonus points:
-
5 points for all former UNCW student-athletes
(bonus is one-time and non-transferrable)
In 2009-2010, members who pay their pledge in full by December
31, 2009 will receive a bonus based on the following schedule:

2 points for donations
paid in full of $120-$599 (Seahawk/Navy Seahawk donation levels)

4 points for donations
paid in full of $600-$999 (Gold Seahawk donation level)

6 points for donations
paid in full of $1,000-$2,999 (Super Seahawk & All Conference donation
levels)

8 points for donations
paid in full of $3000-$7,499 (All American & Hall of Fame donation levels)
-
10 points for donations
paid in full of $7,500+ (Director's Circle & Teal Society donation levels)
Priority
Points Guidelines
Big Wheels
Big Wheels Sponsors are car
dealerships that provide loaner cars to assist with recruiting the best coaches and
administrators for UNCW Athletics. Those
companies will receive the number of tickets that
correspond with their Big Wheels Courtesy Car Agreement. Their seats will be selected by lifetime
priority points ranking.
Corporate Sponsors
Corporate Sponsors are companies
that advertise through UNCW Athletics and make significant gifts to the Seahawk
Club. Those companies will receive the number of ticketsthat correspond with their
corporate sponsorship package. Their
seats will be selected by lifetime priority points ranking.
Gift-in-Kind
Gift-in-Kind (GIK) Donors provide
goods and services in lieu of cash to support and fulfill specific needs that have been
identified by UNCW Athletics.
Ties
Ties in rank for the seat
selection will be decided as follows:

Total lifetime giving to the
Seahawk Club
-
Number of total years membership
in the Seahawk Club
-
Number of consecutive years as a
season ticket holder
UNCW Faculty & Staff
UNCW Faculty/Staff that are
Seahawk Club members will be seated according to theirlifetime priority points. Annual
contributions made to the Seahawk Club will receive double benefits based on their
donation level (Golden Hawk Room benefits will not apply).
Death
In
the event of the death of a Seahawk Club member ticket holder, the priority
points and
the right to purchase tickets shall be extended to a surviving spouse. If there is nosurviving
spouse, then the rights will be extended one generation.
Divorce
In the event there is dissolution of the
marriage, the donor and his/her spouse shall notify the Seahawk Club in writing that they
have agreed to divide the priority points and right to purchase tickets between them.
Family Trusts
Family Trust must list one
individual to receive benefits. Upon the death of thedesignated individual, the spouse
may retain benefits in accordance with the Priority Point Policy regarding death.
Merging Accounts
Certain accounts may be merged to maximize priority points. To merge an account
the donor must complete the Seahawk Club
Merge Account Form and have all relevant parties sign the document. The Seahawk
Club merges the following types of accounts:

Spouses with different accounts

A business owner merges his/her
personal and business accounts
Name Changes
To change the name on the
account, the donor must contact the Seahawk Club in writing to have their request
honored.
Businesses/Foundations
Points are normally accrued in
the name of the business or foundation.
However, theowner/president of the
business/foundation may receive the points or award them to one person in the company if they
notify the UNCW Athletics Department in writing prior. If the owner/president does award the points
to someone else, they are not allowed to reverse the decision
at a later date.
Selling a Business
When a business is sold, points
are given to the former owner unless arrangements are made between the previous and new owner to
share or transfer the points with the purchase of the business. If an agreement was reached between the two
parties and the new business owner is to
receive all or a portion of the points, then the new business owner should contact the
UNCW Athletics Department in writing.
Both parties will need to sign a Seahawk Club
Priority Points Transfer Form.
