SEAHAWK NETTERS OPEN PLAY IN N.C. STATE TOURNEY
RALEIGH, N.C. - The UNC Wilmington women's tennis team went 2-5 in singles and 2-1 in doubles on the opening day of the Residence Inn North Wolfpack Invitational Tennis Tournament Friday.
Freshman Chelsea Kahle and junior Lauren Isenhour picked up the lone singles victories on the day. Kahle cruised past East Carolina's Zandy Overcash, 6-2, 6-1, in Flight C3, while Isenhour thumped South Carolina-Upstate's Maria Herrera, 6-3, 6-2, in Flight C1.
In doubles, Priscilla Roberts and Hartley Collins won in Flight A2 and Isenhour teamed up with newcomer Melissa Wolf for an opening-round victory in Flight A3.
Play continues on Saturday and Sunday at three locations in the capital city.
