Cauble, Renkin Named NCCSIA All-State

WILMINGTON, N.C. ? UNC Wilmington midfielders senior Jenny Cauble and junior Kelly Renkin have been named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State Women's Soccer Team, organization officials announced.

North Carolina features some of the top collegiate soccer players in the country,” UNCW head coach Paul Cairney said. “It is an honor for both Jenny and Kelly to be recognized among the best in the state. As with any individual award, the entire program shares in the recognition that both players have received from this honor.”

The team consists of NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities. Nominees are submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals. NCCSIA members voted for the all-state team, which is comprised of one goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders, and three forwards.

Cauble, one of only two three-time honorees on this year's squad, capped her playing career in 2007 with 14 points on five goals and four assists in 19 starts. A native of Greensboro, N.C., Cauble finished her career among the Seahawks' all-time leaders in goals (20), assists (14), points 54) and games played (75)

Renkin, meanwhile, returns to the list after leading UNCW in numerous offensive categories during the 2007 season, including goals (10), assists (4), points (24) and game-winning goals (5) on her way to earning First-Team All-CAA honors for the second straight season. The Midlothian, Va., product will enter her senior campaign in third place on the school's all-time goals (23) and points (58) lists and second place on the school's game-winning goals chart (11).

Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from North Carolina's NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions for the purpose of promoting college athletics in the state. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina whose responsibilities include sports information.
