ATLANTA, Georgia – Former Colonial Athletic Association rival Georgia State won the doubles point and used strong singles play to defeat UNCW, 4-1, in men's tennis early Sunday at the Georgia State-Dunwoody courts.

The Seahawks dropped their final match in a four-match road trip and stand 15-4 overall this spring. Coach
Mait DuBois and his club finished this season with a 4-3 road record and lost for the first time in five matches against Sun Belt Conference opponents.

Georgia State, 12-9, improved to 5-1 at home and 6-5 lifetime against the Seahawks after winning its second straight match and fourth in five outings.

The Panthers picked up the doubles point for some early momentum and took the first match off the court in singles for a quick 2-0 advantage.

Agustin Savarino then breezed past GSU's Quentin Coulaud, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 singles to slice the margin to 2-1, but the Panthers claimed the next two singles matches for the decisive win.

The Seahawks, 10-0 on their home courts, return to the Port City to entertain South Carolina State in the regular season finale on Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m.
