Men's Tennis Takes Down DePaul, 6-1

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW won its second straight and sixth in the last seven as the Seahawks raced past visiting DePaul, 6-1, on Saturday at the UNCW Tennis Complex.
The Seahawks evened their record at 8-8 while improving to 7-1 at home. The Blue Devils, meanwhile, slid to 5-12 with the setback.

Senior Alex Thompson's win (6-4, 6-3) at number six singles gave the match to the Seahawks.

After dropping the first match of doubles, UNCW answered with wins by Lukas Steffen and William Dean at number two (6-2), and Brady Hussey and Alex de Gabriele captured the point for UNCW at number one doubles, 6-3.

Steffan ran his record at number one singles to 9-3 with a straight-set win, and de Gabriele, who won in a tie-breaker in set three, improved to 4-2 at number two singles.

UNCW hosts Queens on Sunday at 10 a.m.
