Men's Soccer Enters National Rankings

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The UNCW men's soccer program earned national recognition this week, ranking in both the Top Drawer Soccer (No. 25) and United Soccer Coaches (No. 23) Top 25 polls, as announced on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

The Seahawks (4-0-1) entered the week as one of the 26 NCAA Division I men's soccer teams left unbeaten in 2026. UNCW became the last program among the 210 Division I soccer teams to concede a goal last Saturday in its 2-1 comeback win against William & Mary.

For the first time in five years, the Seahawks are ranked in both major national polls. UNCW was last ranked No. 13 in the USC poll released on Apr. 6, 2021, and was No. 25 in the TDS preseason poll on Oct. 11, 2021.

The nationally ranked Seahawks, who are 32-20-7 all-time as a ranked team, were in the national coaches' poll every season from 2013-21 and enter Tuesday evening's road game at NC State first in the nation in save percentage (.957), tied for second in goals against average (.200) and tied for third in shutout percentage (.800).
