Men's Soccer Soars to CAA South Division Championship

ELON, N.C. – The No. 20 UNCW men's soccer team soared to the Coastal Athletic Association South Division Regular Season Championship with a scoreless draw against second-place Elon on Saturday night at Rudd Field.

The Seahawks remained unbeaten at 6-0-1 in league play and 9-2-3 overall and will host part of the CAA Men's Soccer Tournament for the first time since 2022. UNCW secured the CAA South's top seed and a bye to the CAA South Final with a tie, and William & Mary's 1-1 draw at Charleston earlier Saturday.

The Phoenix maintained second place in the CAA South with a 2-1-4 CAA record and stand 8-2-5 overall.

The Seahawks previously won the CAA regular season in 2008, 2009, 2014 and 2019 prior to the league's move to North and South division alignment in men's soccer in 2025.

UNCW goalkeeper Alex Kron fashioned his fourth shutout of the season while Elon netminder Drew Hartman collected four saves with his own clean sheet.

The Seahawks outshot the Phoenix, 12-10.

UNCW continues its season against Charleston next Saturday at 7 p.m. in its regular season home finale that will double as Senior Night.
