WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW women's soccer forward Caigan Leonard was named the Coastal Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping the Seahawks open the season 2-0 and leading the team in scoring.

Leonard, a sophomore from New Windsor, New York, scored in each of UNCW's first two matches and leads the Seahawks with four points. She scored in the 68th minute against App State to cap a 3-0 victory in the season opener before finding the back of the net again just two minutes into Sunday's 2-1 win at Western Carolina.

The two-goal weekend marked the first multi-game scoring streak of Leonard's UNCW career and helped the Seahawks earn their first 2-0 start since 2019.

The Seahawks return to UNCW Soccer Stadium Thursday, Aug. 20, to host Old Dominion in their first home match of the season. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., with the match available to stream on FloCollege.
