WILMINGTON, N.C. – Redshirt junior
Hailey Longwell earned her first CAA Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season after recording three goals and an assist in a pair of road victories last week.
Longwell played 154 minutes in UNCW's 2-1 win over Towson and 3-0 victory over Drexel, scoring within the opening three minutes of both matches.
At Towson, Longwell headed in a corner kick from
Ava Vaughan in the opening three minutes to give the Seahawks an early lead. She struck again in similar fashion against Drexel, finding the back of the net off a pass from
Caigan Leonard in the second minute.
Longwell continued her strong performance against the Dragons, assisting
Abbey Pierson's goal in the 33rd minute before scoring her second of the match in the 61st minute.
Following the two-match stretch, Longwell leads the Seahawks with eight goals, 20 points and 44 shots this season. She also has four assists.
The Seahawks continue their road stretch Sunday, Oct. 18, with a 1 p.m. matchup at Charleston. The match will stream on FloCollege.
