Marshburn Tabbed CAA Pitcher of the Week

WILMINGTON, N.C. – On Monday, junior Connor Marshburn became the third UNCW pitcher to earn Coastal Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week honors following his strong outing against the College of Charleston last weekend.

Marshburn joins rotation mates Cooper Allen (Feb. 23) and Bromley Thornton (Mar. 16) in earning the honor. Mason Hughes has won the Player of the Week award twice (Mar. 9, 16).

Marshburn evened his record at 2-2 with six innings of two-hit, shutout baseball in UNCW's 2-1 series-opening win on Friday at the College of Charleston. He walked one, struck out seven, and both hits were singles.

Through six starts, Marshburn has posted a 3.69 earned run average and held opponents to a .193 average. Opponents are slugging just .218 against him with three extra base hits.

The Seahawks return to Brooks Field on Mar. 27 against William & Mary for a 6 p.m. start.
