Baseball Preview: at Charleston

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – UNCW returns to conference play this weekend when it visits the College of Charleston in the first of a home-and-home series between the two rivals. The series opens Friday at 6 p.m.

The Seahawks (14-7, 3-0 CAA) opened their conference schedule last weekend with a sweep of visiting Elon (9-11, 4-2 CAA) while the Cougars knocked off visiting Stony Brook in a series win at Patriots Point.

Both programs dropped non-conference home games to a ranked ACC program this week. Tenth-ranked NC State topped the Seahawks, 14-2, while #18 Clemson edged CofC, 3-1.

Connor Marshburn (1-2) makes his sixth start as UNCW's Friday starter, while the Cougars counter with Carter Harrington (1-1), who is making his fifth start.

The series continues Saturday with a 2 p.m. start and concludes on Sunday with first-pitch slated for 1 p.m.
