Women's Basketball Preview: at Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Seahawks open a stretch where they'll play four of their last five regular-season games on the road beginning on Friday at 6:31. p.m. at Stony Brook.

UNCW also visits Hofstra to conclude the brief swing through Long Island on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Seahawks (6-18, 2-11 CAA) are coming off a narrow loss to rival Campbell, falling 54-52 to their rivals last weekend at Trask Coliseum. Rori Cox led the way for the 12th time this season, scoring 14 points while Kylah Silver posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

While sitting at 14-11 overall on the season, SBU owns a 9-3 conference record and sits in third place entering the weekend. The Seawolves had a modest four-game winning streak halted last time out with a 73-60 loss at the hands of Northeastern.

SBU has the league's second-best defense, allowing just 56.2 points per game, but scoring has been limited to 58.2 ppg.

Friday's test will be the first for UNCW since losing Cox to an injury in the Campbell game.
