Women's Basketball Preview: at Towson

TOWSON, Md. – The Seahawks retake the court on Sunday as they face yet another hot team in the Coastal Athletic Association in Towson.

The Tigers have won their last five outings to push their record to 9-5 overall and 2-0 in the league. The Seahawks, meanwhile, have dropped their last two, both conference tilts, by a combined eight points. Monmouth rallied and then held off the Seahawks late on Friday in a 52-50 win in West Long Branch.

UNCW and the Tigers have met 45 times with the Seahawks owning a 26-19 lead in the series. The two foes split their series last season, each winning on road. The Seahawks snapped a five-game skid with a 72-63 victory on Feb. 23, 2025.

Rori Cox, UNCW's leading scorer at 12.8 points per game, poured in 14 points and collected four steals against Monmouth.

Following Sunday's game, the Seahawks return to Trask Coliseum for three straight home games. The stretch begins with Elon on Jan. 16.
