MARICOPA, Arizona – Sophomore Minouche Rooijmans earned a share of seventh place with a one-under par 71 third-round score as the UNCW women's golf team closed out its season at the National Golf Invitational, held at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, on Sunday.
Santa Clara captured the team title of the third-annual NGI, four strokes ahead of Eastern Michigan. The Eagles' Angelica Holman edged out Mercer's Katie Scheck by one stroke for individual medalist honors.
The Seahawks (302-307-295=904) finished sixth of 10 teams, one place ahead of defending NGI champion Rutgers.
Rooijmans paced UNCW with 11 birdies while freshman Valencia Chang collected 10 one-unders.
Redshirt junior Victoria Levy (73-75-73=221) for ninth with nine birdies.
