Three Seahawks Honored By CAA

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Led by a pair of record swimming performances and a win in diving, UNCW landed three Coastal Athletic Association Athletes of the Week honors the league announced on Tuesday.

Cameron Snowden and Jack VanHowe were honored as the swimmers of the week and Ethan Badrian was tabbed as the Diver of the Week.

Snowden won the women's 100 Fly at nationally-ranked NC State and broke UNCW and CAA records in the process. Snowden fashioned a time of 52.06 seconds, also an NCAA B cut qualifying time. Snowden was third in the 100 Free (50.13) and helped the 200 Free and Medley relays to third-place finishes.

VanHowe won the men's 100 Back with a program and conference record time of 46.30 seconds, also an NCAA B cut qualifier. He swam the leadoff leg of the second-place 200 Medley Relay and was fourth in the 200 Back (1:45.89).

Badrian, meanwhile, gave UNCW a win on the 3-meter board with a score of 328.88 points against nationally-ranked NC State in the dual meet finale for the Seahawks. He added a second-place finish on the 1-meter (304.95).

The Seahawks next compete this weekend at the UNC Invitational beginning on Feb. 6.
