Carrico, Busic Ready For NCAA Championships

ATLANTA, Ga. – Seahawks William Carrico and Joseph Busic return to the pool this week when they make their NCAA Championships debut at the McCauley Aquatics Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.

Carrico, who will compete in both IM events, opens his competition on Thursday with the 400 IM prelims at 10 a.m. Busic, meanwhile, will make his debut on Saturday in the 200 Fly, also in the prelims at 10 a.m. The finals for each day are set for 6 p.m.

Carrico enters the championships as the Coastal Athletic Association's champion in both IM events. At the championship meet, his time of 1:42.09 landed him in the NCAA top-20 at 18th. Also at the championships, he fashioned a time of 3:42.15 in the 400 IM and checks him in at 39th.

Busic won the 200 Fly at the CAA meet with a personal-best time of 1:43.52. He entered the meet with a PR of 1:46.12, and he shaved 2.6 seconds off that time to win the event.

Carrico and Busic are the first Seahawks to qualify for the men's championship since Robert Anderson did so in 2010 in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke in Columbus, Ohio.
