Snowden, Carrico Earn CAA Swimming Honors

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Cameron Snowden and William Carrico were recognized by the Coastal Athletic Association as the women's and men's Swimmers of the Year, respectively, to highlight UNCW's postseason accolades haul.

Joining Snowden and Carrico were Alex Tysinger as the women's Co-Rookie Swimmer of the Year and Brendan Doeand Isabella Wilhelm, who were recognized as the men's and women's Rookie Divers of the Year, respectively.

Snowden repeated as the women's Swimmer of the Year after becoming the first Seahawk to qualify for back-to-back NCAA Championships. At the conference championship, Snowden captured gold in three events, including both the 50 and 100 Free and the 100 Fly. She earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships after winning the 100 Fly. Snowden is the first repeat women's swimmer of the year since 2017.

Carrico, who shared Swimmer of the Year honors with Drexel's Theo Andreopoulos, qualified for the NCAA Championships in two events, swimming both the 200 and 400 IM. He finished 20th in the 200 IM with a conference and program record time of 3:40.89. At the conference meet, won both IM events and finished second in the 200 Breast. Carrico has won the 400 IM in each of his three seasons, and he is UNCW's first male swimmer of the year since Rob Anderson in 2010.

Tysinger helped UNCW to gold medals in the 200 and 400 Medley Relays and helped the 400 Free Relay to a silver medal finish. Tysinger scored points for the Seahawks in the 50, 100, and 200 Free events.

On the boards, Doe finished sixth in the 1-meter at the conference championships and was fourth in the 3-meter. Wilhelm, meanwhile, was fifth on the 1-meter board and ninth on the 3-meter.
