Marshburn Named CAA Pitcher of the Week

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW sophomore Connor Marshburn held nationally-ranked Georgia hitless over six innings and was honored as the Coastal Athletic Association's Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Marshburn, who was making his first career start, struck out a career-high tying seven batters and did not allow a baserunner past second base as the Seahawks knocked off the nationally-ranked Bulldogs on Sunday, 6-2.

Marshburn was part of a Seahawk starting rotation of Zane Taylor, Trace Baker and Cam Bagwell that combined for 23.1 innings, struck out 26 hitters and held opponents to a .150 batting average and 1.93 ERA.

The Seahawks visit Duke on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. start.
