Regional Preview: Vs. Georgia Tech

ATHENS, Ga. – UNCW makes its 12th NCAA Regional appearance Friday at 7 p.m. when it faces third-seeded Georgia Tech at Foley Field in game two of the Athens Regional.

The Seahawks captured their conference-record eighth tournament title by rallying past top-seeded College of Charleston, 6-4, in the championship game of the Coastal Athletic Association tournament earlier this week at Brooks Field.

At 39-19, UNCW enters the regional as the sixth time as the number two seed. The Yellowjackets, meanwhile, carry a mark of 31-23 into the weekend after earning an at-large bid.

The two programs have not met since 1987 and stand at a two-all deadlock in the brief series.

All games of the regional will be streamed on ESPN+.
