Women's 4x400 Relay Team Earns CAA Gold

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW 4x400 Women's Relay team of Janiyah Fields, Avery Rueckert, Mackenzie Townsend and Nasiah Ferguson claimed the CAA Gold Medal with a school record 3:40.86 time as the Seahawk outdoor men's and women's track and field programs concluded the Coastal Athletic Association Championships on Saturday at The Robertson Complex on the campus of Elon.

The foursome joined UNCW gold medalists Jordyn Robbins (Women's Javelin) and Bryson Robinson (Men's Long Jump), who each earned top honors in their events on Friday.

Robbins' 158-05.75 throw ranked third on UNCW's all-time list. Robinson's 25-10.50 leap is the 16th-best mark in the NCAA this season and shattered his personal and school records.

UNCW's Josh Parks joined Miles Higgins (Men's Javelin) and Courtney Lines (Women's Long Jump) as silver medalists with a 50.49 sprint in the Men's 400 Hurdles finals as well as a runner-up finish in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a 13.76 time.

Freshman Isabella Borelli clocked a 2:15.37 time in the Women's 800 Meter and now ranks seventh on UNCW's all-time list. Graduate thrower Samantha Ennis entered the UNCW top-10 all-time leaderboard in the Women's Hammer with a 154-04.25 throw.

UNCW's Ryan Hunt earned 5,865 points in the Men's Decathlon for sixth on UNCW's top-10 all-time list.

Ivan Poag earned a bronze medal in the Men's Triple Jump, the sixth-best mark in UNCW history.

Eight UNCW student-athletes are positioned to punch their ticket to the NCAA Regionals that will be determined on Sunday: J.T. Allen (Men's 100 Meter Hurdles), Nickolis Anderson (Men's 400 Meters), Ryan DeBarber (Men's Javelin), along with Robbins, Parks, Lines, Higgins and Robinson – look to secure berths to the NCAA East Preliminaries to be held May 22-25 in Lexington, Kent.

The UNCW men finished sixth of nine teams while the women placed 10th of 13 CAA squads.

More information on UNCW's potential Last Chance Meets will be provided at a later date.
