Women's Basketball Preview: Hampton

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The annual Play4Kay pink game returns to the confines of Trask Coliseum on Sunday when the UNCW women's basketball team battles Hampton at 1 p.m.
 
GAME COVERAGE SERIES INFO
Hampton has claimed the previous three meetings, including a win at home against UNCW two weeks ago.

The Lady Pirates represent the Seahawks' first repeat opponent on the Coastal Athletic Association calender.

LAST TIME OUT
Redshirt freshman Taylor Henderson led UNCW with a 19-point effort in the Seahawks' 76-43 setback to North Carolina A&T on Friday night at Trask Coliseum.

Henderson has topped UNCW in scoring in 10 games this season.

SCOUTING THE LADY PIRATES
Charleston used a 24-9 fourth quarter to turn back Hampton on Friday night in the Lowcountry.

Lady Pirates guard Camryn Hill paces the visitors with 14.8 ppg.

PLAY4KAY GAME
For the fifth season in a row Coastal Athletic Association Women's Basketball, as a conference, will participate in the Play4Kay movement to raise money in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Play4Kay is an initiative aimed at bringing communities together to honor cancer warriors in the fight against ALL cancers affecting women by uniting players, coaches, officials, and fans to do something for the greater good that far exceeds wins and losses in competition.

Gates will open at Noon on Sunday and the first 120 fans will receive a pink UNCW t-shirt sponsored by Pawn USA.

A special survivor's walk for all attendees who have battled cancer will be held prior to tip-off with those participating walking onto the court. Fans are encouraged to participate.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Seahawks are on the road but remain in-state with trips to Campbell (Feb. 9) and Elon (Feb. 11) on the docket next weekend.
