Women's Basketball Preview: Charleston

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's basketball team will close out the Homecoming Weekend festivities with a 1 p.m. clash vs. rival Charleston on Sunday at Trask Coliseum.

GAME COVERAGE SERIES INFO
UNCW claims the all-time series, 20-16, against the Cougars, but Charleston has the recent upper hand with a 94-69 victory in the Lowcountry three weekends ago.

The Seahawks, however, claimed the win the last time the two teams met in Trask Coliseum one year ago.

LAST TIME OUT
The Seahawks have won in two of their last three games, including a thrilling 60-58 road win against Elon last Sunday. Freshman Kylah Silver established a career-high with 18 points while Taylor Henderson's 17 points and Evan Miller's 16 aided the Seahawks to their first CAA road win in three seasons.

Sunday once again pits the league's top two rookie scorers against each other with Henderson (14.4) and Charleston's Taryn Barbot (16.5 ppg).

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Charleston dispatched Campbell at home 65-51 and have won five of their last six games.

The Cougars boast four players who are averaging double figures, led by Barbot and former All-CAA guard Jenna Annecchiarico at 14.6 ppg.

LOOKING AHEAD
UNCW is back on the road next weekend with trips to Delaware (Feb. 23) and Drexel (Feb. 25) on the docket.
