Baseball Preview: Kent State

The Seahawks host Kent State in a three-game series beginning on Friday at 4 p.m.

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The defending Coastal Athletic Association champions open their season Friday when the Seahawks host Kent State in the first of a three-game series at Brooks Field at 4 p.m.

The series continues Saturday with another 4 p.m. start and will conclude on Sunday with an 11 a.m. first pitch.

All three games will be streamed on FloBaseball.com, but only Friday's game will be aired locally on 95.9 FM The Breeze and 959thebreeze.com.

UNCW, which played in the NCAA Conway Regional last season, was picked second in the CAA's preseason coaches poll and had seven players earn preseason All-CAA honors.

The Golden Flash, meanwhile, fashioned a very impressive 46-12 record overall and 24-6 in the Mid-America Conference, somehow, was left out of the postseason tournament field.

The two programs have split 16 games in the series.
