WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW travels to Conway, S.C. on Wednesday when they visit Coastal Carolina for a 6 p.m. contest at HTC Center. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Seahawks' spirited rally came up just short against West Georgia on Thursday, Dec. 5, falling to the Wolves in the final seconds, 70-66. Taylor Henderson tallied a game-high 18 points and hauled in eight rebounds. Henderson set new season highs in each category. Evan Miller added a season-high 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Jania Hall finished with 11 points and dished out four assists.
Ali Zelaya recorded six points and 16 rebounds against West Georgia. Zelaya has hauled in 47 rebounds over her last three games (15.6 per game during that stretch) to lead the CAA in rebounds (97) and rebounds per game (9.7). Zelaya also tallied three blocks in the contest for a CAA-leading 23 blocks on the season. Nationally, Zelaya ranks 16th in blocks and is within the top 40 for rebounds and rebounds per game.

Coastal Carolina improved to 7-1 with a 73-46 road win against Presbyterian on Sunday. The Chanticleers outscored the Blue Hose 22-4 in the second quarter. Kristin Williams led the way with 16 points. Alancia Ramsey scored 15, while Jaylen Ponder added 13 off the bench. The Chanticleers shot 47.5% from the field. During their three-game win streak, Coastal Carolina also defeated Coker and Jacksonville State. Their lone loss was an 89-68 defeat against North Carolina State.
