UNCW Swimming & Diving Caps Fall Schedule

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The men's 400 free style relay of Mac Russell, Shaw Satterfield, Jacob Duracinsky and William Carrico combined to post a fourth-place finish to lead UNCW on the final day of the Gamecock Invitational.

The Seahawks men's and women's programs both finished fourth in their respective meets.

The 400 relay posted a season-best time of 2:55.24 in taking fourth.

Gil Shaw recorded UNCW's top finish on the women's side when she clocked in at 2:14.49 in the finals of the 200 Breaststroke. In the men's race, Carrico placed eighth when he chalked up a time of 1:59.46.

Other top-eight finishes included Jack VanHowe in the 200 Backstroke, and Russell was eighth in the 100 Free.

In Fairfax, Va., at the Patriot Invitational, Makenna Sharpe finished second in the 1-meter board finals with a score of 272.65 and Laura Mehta was fifth with 234.45 points. In the men's 3-meter event, Ethan Badrian completed a sweep of the boards with a win after posting a score of 355.45 points. Nic Newis and Etan Ferguson were sixth and seventh in the finals, respectively.

The Seahawks visit Georgia on Jan. 18 for an 11 a.m. start at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.
