Men's Cross Country Brandon Sans

Seahawks Close Season at CAA Championships

ELON, North Carolina – The UNCW men's and women's cross country teams closed out the 2024 season at the Coastal Athletic Association Championships on Friday morning at the Elon Cross Country Course.

The Seahawk men's squad finished 10th of 11 teams in the 8K race. The UNCW women's program fashioned a 12th place showing out of 13 teams in the 6K race.

Junior Carly McCusker clocked a 23:17.60 time in the 6K race to finish 67th among 119 finishers. The Simsbury, Conn., native paced the Seahawks in all four races this season.

Sophomore Nicholas Potter was UNCW's top men's runner with a 27:34.50 8K time to finish 65th.

Stony Brook claimed its third straight Men's Cross Country CAA Championship men's in the 8K race in the closest finish in league history, 48 points to second-place Northeastern's 49 points.

The Huskies were victorious in the women's field, edging William & Mary by 10 points, 44-54.
