Seahawk Men Win Four Events Versus Auburn

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW recorded four first-place finishes on the men's side, but Auburn dealt the Seahawks a 148-114 loss on Saturday at the David B. Allen Natatorium. The Tigers also captured the women's meet, 211-51.

The Seahawks dropped to 2-2 on the men's side while the women dipped to 0-4. The meet was the season opener for Auburn.

UNCW collected four first-place finishes on the day, including a victory in the 200 Medley Relay to open the meet. Joe Busic took first in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:48.83 while Aidan Duffey (2:00.28) and William Carrico (3:54.26) won the 200 Breaststroke and 400 IM, respectively.

The 200 Medley Relay of Jack VanHowe, Dylan Citta, Dave Fitch and Mac Russell combined for a time of 1:26.97.

The women's 200 Medley Relay of Maeren McGonigle, Gil Shaw, Cameron Snowden and Lauren Hinton placed second with a mark of 1:41.67.

Shaw added a runner-up finish in the 200 Breaststroke when she touched the wall in a time of 2:17.04.

The Seahawks visit South Carolina for a pair of dual meets with Queens on Nov. 8.
