UNCW Falls To Coastal, 3-1

CONWAY, S.C. – Alexa Brezeault and Katie Lanz combined for 29 kills on Tuesday in a 3-1 road setback at Coastal Carolina at the HTC Center.

The Chanticleers improved to 5-5 with the win while the Seahawks slipped to 3-7.

Brezeault finished with 13 kills and a .500 hitting average while Lanz collected a team 16 kills and five digs. Grace Melnick and Emma Chappell chipped in nine kills apiece.

Jasmine Rivest held match-high honors with 17 kills for Coastal Carolina and rounded out a double-double with 13digs.

The match saw the score tied 20 times over the final three sets, including 11 in the fourth. The lead changed hands 13 times over those sets, including six in the last set.

The Seahawks host North Carolina A&T in the Coastal Athletic Association opening series for both programs. The action begins on Saturday at 4 p.m.
